Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.
Ephesians 6:11-13
The Armor of God is something many Christians have heard about and perhaps know well. Maybe you’ve even worn it as a Halloween costume as a kid:
I vaguely remember having a costume like that as a kid. But is the Armor of God really a physical set of armor?
According to 2 Corinthians 10 Paul says,
For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds
2 Corinthians 10:3-4
The war we wage is not a physical war, and thus the weapons we use are not physical weapons. The one piece of the Armor of God I want to look at today is the Belt of Truth.
What is the Belt of Truth?
Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,
Ephesians 6:14
I pray we all can understand what it means to put on the Belt of Truth, and to fully equip ourselves with the full Armor of God.
