Many people have their own ideas and opinions about Heaven, where it is, and how to get there. Is it up in the sky? Is it on earth? If we’re a good person, will we go to heaven?
There are many things out there that people wonder about when it comes to Heaven. As Christians, we must always check things according to God’s Word.
“Heaven” is wherever God’s throne is.
The LORD is in his holy temple;
Psalms 11:4
the LORD’S throne is in heaven;
his eyes see, his eyelids test the children of man.
At once I was in the Spirit, and behold, a throne stood in heaven, with one seated on the throne.
Revelation 4:2
As believers in God and Jesus, they have promised us when, where, and how to find Heaven through the prophecies in the book of Revelation. Now, Revelation might seem like a “scary” book, but it’s actually the opposite when you can understand it. It’s full of hope and the promise of God and the kingdom of Heaven coming down to earth at the time of the second coming.
When all of Revelation is fulfilled, we get this amazing promise:
Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”
Revelation 21:1-4
“No more death, crying, mourning, or pain,” these are words of hope, and should be our hope as believers. Whatever God has promised, He will surely fulfill. Let us learn and understand God’s word rightly, so we can find where Heaven is, and go there.
