I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life. And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.
1 John 5:13-15
We who believe in Jesus are able to receive eternal life. That’s an amazing blessing! But in order for us to do that, we must keep the words Jesus commanded us. If we do not obey, will we receive that gift?
We must remain faithful and truly understand the meaning of Jesus’s words, God’s words, revealed by the one God has sent.
And when we pray, we must pray in Jesus’s name.
Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.
John 14:13-14
When we pray in Jesus’s name, God will listen and answer us. But what do we pray for?
We must pray according to God’s Will, asking for His kingdom to come down to earth and for us to fulfill our tasks as believers. Jesus has given us the true understanding of God and His Word, and we must learn, understand, and believe.
And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true; and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.
1 John 5:20
